Router Restart in Sydney

Resolved — Upstream has fixed their routes and in any case we have now put limits in place to prevent them causing problems on our end should the same thing occur.

Monitoring — We're aware of a router that restarted in Sydney and experienced a long convergence time leading to a loss of about 40% of network traffic for up to two minutes to some networks. We know the cause and are working to prevent an upstream network flooding the router with BGP traffic
